Cryopreserved Human Hepatocytes, Plateable, Induction Qualified are tested for induction of CYP1A2, 2B6, and 3A4 genes by measuring the fold change in mRNA expression and/or activity following treatment with known inducers. These hepatocytes are qualified for high viabilities and healthy cultures lasting a minimum of 5 days in culture. The Induction Qualified hepatocytes are ideal for studying drug-drug interaction potential and are prequalified to meet regulatory minimum guidances for cytochrome P450 mRNA and protein induction levels. They are also ideal for disease modeling, genomics applications, and other applications where high quality plated hepatocytes are required.

Cryopreserved Human Hepatocytes, Plateable, Metabolism Qualified are specifically pre tested for metabolic activity of CYP2C9, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4. They are tested for healthy morphology lasting 72 hours in culture. Metabolism Qualified hepatocytes are ideal for shorter-term plated hepatocyte applications, such as 24 hour metabolic clearance assays and genomics applications. The General Purpose hepatocytes should not be used in drug-drug interaction studies. For drug-drug interaction studies, please refer to the Induction Qualified hepatocytes (HUCPI)
